Preventative

Dental Exams and Cleaning

We help keep your teeth and gums healthy by providing you with quality dental cleaning and maximizing your preventative care to preserve your healthy smile. As a recommendation, please schedule a visit for a dental cleaning every six months. At this appointment, our knowledgeable registered dental hygienist will first thoroughly examine and record the findings, and compare them with your previous visit. Your registered dental hygienist will then remove plaque, tartar, and food particles from your teeth. The exam and cleaning will include the following:

• Teeth surfaces will be checked for decay with quality dental instruments such as Digital Imaging Intraoral Cameras that reveal even the smallest details such as cracks and other anomalies.
• Gums and bone around the teeth will be measured for any signs of periodontal disease.
• Facial structures such as face, neck, lips, tongue, throat and soft tissues will be examined for any signs of oral cancer.
• Existing procedures-We will assess current fillings, crowns, and existing restorations.
• Digital X-rays- to determine tooth and root position, as well as check for abscessing or decayed teeth.
• Removal of plaque, if left unchecked this invisible film becomes a colony of growing bacteria that produce poisonous toxins and inflame the gum area that can be early signs of periodontal disease!
• Removal of calculus (tartar), hardened plaque that has been left on the tooth for some time and is now firmly attached to the tooth surface. Calculus forms above and below the gum line and can only be removed with professional quality dental instruments.
• Polishing Paste, gently buffs away microscopic plaque and discoloration leaving your teeth smooth and shiny.

Family Dentistry

You already have a lot on your plate. The last thing you need is to visit several different dental offices. At Crossroads Family Dentistry, we are a family dental office. We can help your whole family with comprehensive family dentistry solutions.

Laser Periodontal Therapy

Patients diagnosed with periodontal disease do not have to undergo painful surgery or wait weeks to see results. With laser gum surgery, we can treat infected tissues in a single visit and do not need to cut away tissue. Laser treatments reduce periodontal pocket depth, which improves the health of your gums in a very short period of time.

Fluoride and Sealants

Applying a fluoride varnish protects a child's primary (first) teeth from decay. Once children have their permanent teeth, dental sealants may be applied for the protection of the back teeth or molars.

Nightguards

Bruxism (teeth grinding) can cause moderate to severe long-term damage to teeth. Constant grinding wears down the surface of the tooth, exposing the soft dentin beneath the enamel. This is why it's important to protect your teeth while you sleep by wearing a biteguard.
